 A cottage bakery is a home-based food business that prepares and sells baked goods made in a private kitchen, rather than a commercial facility. In Texas, this is known as a cottage food production operation.

How My Bakery Operates

• All items are made in my home kitchen
• My kitchen is not inspected by the health department
• I follow all Texas cottage food laws and food safety guidelines

Under Texas law, cottage bakers can sell:

• Cookies
• Cakes
• Cupcakes
• Breads
• Other non-perishable baked      goods

Items that require strict refrigeration (like certain dairy or meat-based products) are not permitted.

•  I have completed an approved food handler training course
• I follow proper sanitation and food safety practices at all times

•   Orders are available for local pickup or delivery
• Cottage food laws do not allow shipping across state lines

 All products are properly labeled with:

• Product name
• Ingredients & allergens
• Business name
• Required state notice  “This product was produced in a private residence that is not subject to governmental licensing or inspection.”
